Providence Tabbed To Capture 2014-15 Title By Hockey East Media

Providence was named by the Hockey East media to claim the league's regular season title for 2014-15 in the fifth annual poll of the Hockey East Writers & Broadcasters Association.

The Friars, who recorded a third-place finish in last season's standings, received 26 of a possible 36 first-place votes. Last year's regular season champion, Boston College, finished second in the balloting and was selected for first on eight of 36 ballots.

Boston University came in third, receiving the other two first-place votes.

Massachusetts-Lowell Selected By Hockey East Media For 2013-14

NCAA semifinalist Massachusetts-Lowell was chosen by the Hockey East media to repeat as regular season champion for 2013-14 in the fourth annual poll of the Hockey East Writers & Broadcasters Association.

The River Hawks received 26 of a possible 37 first-place votes. Last year's regular season runner-up, Boston College, finished second in the balloting and collected eight first-place votes.

New Hockey East member Notre Dame was picked third and received one first-place vote, followed by 2013 Hockey East Tournament runner-up Providence (also one first-place vote) in fourth and New Hampshire

Boston College Picked to Repeat By Hockey East Media in 2012-13

Defending NCAA champion Boston College was chosen by the Hockey East media to repeat as regular season champion for 2012-13 in the third annual poll of the Hockey East Writers & Broadcasters Association.

The Eagles received 21 of a possible 25 first-place votes. Last year's regular season runner-up, Massachusetts-Lowell, finished second in the balloting and received three first-place votes.

Boston University was picked third, followed by New Hampshire and Providence. Maine came in sixth, just behind the Friars, and received the remaining first-place vote.

Boston University was named by Hockey East media to capture the regular season title for 2011-12 in the second annual poll of the Hockey East Writers & Broadcasters Association.

The Terriers, who finished third last season, received 16 of a possible 19 first place votes. Last year's regular season and tournament champion, Boston College, finished second in the balloting and received two first place votes.
